just a quick update from acb hq on this horrendous rainy night in glasgow… we’re off to holland this week and couldn’t be more excited about it. we’d also like to say thanks very much to all the new faces we have in our lives, it’s been great to have such a ball at the last few gigs.

we’re back in glasgow on the 3rd of june in the 13th note, we’ll put up the details soon and then we’re back in one of our favourite places in the world, berlin…

till then you can expect some more video shenanigans, possibly featuring us trying to speak dutch and moaning about our 4am departure time from glasgow. coffee will be consumed in massive quantities and we will probably depart in the same clothes we arrived in cause we don’t like to take our pants off in foreign countries. just kidding. that would be weird. yes. weird.

we played a gig with uh huh her, we again failed to get much footage of us playing, but continued to get us providing some excellent chat. unfortunately we missed capturing a discussion of andy’s grooming of his body parts with leisha. it was pretty special.

we played a little gig at nice and sleazy as part of record store day. andy is working on his focusing and we are not wearing matching hoodies.

how was yours? here’s a video of our antics from the album launch, complete with last minute lighting changes and matching hoodies. yes we wear matching hoodies on gig day. that’s right. we’re that cool.

we’d like to thank everyone for coming out on saturday, we had a ball and really really really do appreciate the support. we’re super glad that everyone is now a miniature dinosaurs and tom kills fan too. if you missed them, you should have a google.

i’m pretty sure that despite it being the launch of our first record, my amp blowing up, excessive amounts of lights and strobes… the only thing i’ll remember in years to come is the downing of half a bottle of jack daniels. andy has since apologised for encouraging this behaviour. it will happen again, but probably not till the next album. definitely a once a year moment.

we have a video uploading of the evening, but it’s taking too long and i should be in bed so you have that to look forward to tomorrow…

24 hours

it’s now less than 24 hours for those of you that are coming to the album launch to get your hands on our debut. we made this album in our little studio in a barn out near loch lomond called the texx and found other ears to mix it. we called it sex and love, after one of the tracks and it’s really because most of the songs on it are about either sex or love or both. album number two might have to take on some different subjects… like politics or the state of the economy… maybe not, there’s more chance of it being about something i saw on jeremy kyle.

i don’t know what my favourite track on the album is. hold on me is my favourite to play live, cause it seems to climax well, like gigs should. maybe ‘minutes’ cause it’s the first and only love song i wrote that got across that kind of obsession, all encompassing, headf*ck kind of love.

touch me is not one i like playing in front of my dad.

answer came about as a kind of mish mash of another couple of tracks. start a fire seems to be the favourite of some of my best mates, although acoustically at 3 in the morning it’s kind of hard to recreate given it doesn’t develop lyrically very far, except louder.

we are so excited for you to hear it and can’t wait to play tomorrow night. it is likely that you might not hear from us for a few days as we will be in extreme hangover states and we know we’ve milked it with the count down. but we will be videoing the crap out of everything so for those of you that are missing it (we will forgive but not forget…) we promise to get as much of it up online soon.

we’re spending this evening with our new toy. midi programming lights now takes almost as long as programming drum loops and i think we’re destroyed our retinas. when we first got the light rig we spent the evening trying every single setting trying to get it to work with the midi syncing (this works like a keyboard, like pressing c would turn a light on and press it again and it turns it off) only to discover we had a faulty lighting desk which then meant we had less that 24 hours to program our first light show, cause of course we couldn’t wait till the next show. this would not be logical. i finally finished all the lights and had almost managed to make myself sick with the strobes.

we started this countdown not really knowing where it would go so i’m rambling about lights, who know’s where it will end up tomorrow. we might give away something else for free, although i’ve to stop doing that, apparently trying to play for a coffee with an album is neither big nor clever nor cost effective.
