having been worried out our nuts that either a) our string parts were actually shite or b) no one would turn up to hear them cause they thought they were going to be shite. it was a good relief to play it all loud and to a packed cca.

we have a little snippet cause we were gagging to get something up from it, but we have another 3 cameras and all the audio recorded so we’ll put all that together next week… this weekend was spent very much trying to take a chill pill.

we also have to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped us put the show together, richie on the lights and dave on the sound totally out done themselves and we couldn’t have done it without them. also we’ll never thank the viridian quartet enough for such a great experience and for being so great to work with.

it was great to play and will definitely be one that we don’t forget for a long time and well worth the new t shirt.

speaking of thursday, i thought once we had the string parts nailed down that my nerves would settle slightly, or at least i’d stop having nightmares, but it seems to be getting worse instead…

we also had a play on glasgow podcart this week, these guys are doing great things (almost enough great things to let the britney spears comparison slide) and are fast becoming the one podcast i actually listen to and don’t just have it sitting in my itunes, you should really check em out here or be smart and subscribe on your itunes right this very second.

these are just the quick run throughs of the tracks, but it was great to hear what things sounded like on a real instruments after programming in midi with not so good samples. thankfully there were only a few bits and bobs that needed adjustment and the quartet seemed to understand the mountains and mountains of sheet music we had produced.

it’s quite different from the stuff we normally write and it really does add a different feel from our usual electro tastic set, but i think it’s going to work pretty damn well and i can’t wait to play it through with all our guitars going and everything loud.

we really appreciate everyone keeping us company on the web, was a completely different experience for us.
we’ve got lots of footage from our recording and will try and squeeze it all down to about 10 mins, so you don’t have to sit through the full 12 hours of us messing around and recording andy’s seven thousand guitar parts…

we got home last night after spending the day in edinburgh, we were due to play outdoors at the three sisters, unfortunately a riot broke out about 7pm and the police closed off the road, closed the gates and started taking statements. quite the scene, they even brought in the police dogs.

we we hanging out in the ‘breakfast room’ upstairs, and could see it all from above, the result was at 9pm we were asked whether we wanted to go on and we said yep. then at 9.15pm the police shut down the whole event… as if a band would set people off, our music is so calm and relaxing, i was shocked by this decision.

we’re really sorry to everyone who turned up to see us and especially those from glasgow and we’ll make it up to you somehow.
