I GOT THE KEY, I GOT THE SECRET

we ventured up north over the weekend for the more than awesome electric bay festival. played with some great bands and only returned with some scratches and bruises from running about the countryside at 2am.

it really was the most amazing setting we’ve ever played, i have been super inspired to try and find something comparable that we can do up the loch, loch lomond that is, this summer.

we really had a ball apart from a minor incident we had with the van key… see what happened was we put it in laura’s (aka pennylane photography) camera case, thinking this would be the safest option. however after playing our set and staying down at the beach for the fireworks, we trekked up to the campsite to put our gear away and discovered no van key. so hunting around the ground and going through gear ensued and finally the last place to look was andy’s bag. now andy had only had his bag for 10 mins and had stored it in the sound desk for the rest of the day so there was really no way he could have had the key, but in the drunken way we were and since it was the last option he was made to go through it. then while he was rummaging around the van opened and closed. as you can imagine we were like, ‘what the f*ck’ and started yelling ‘keep looking it’s in there, you just opened it’ and it opened and closed again… obviously baffled and still not able to find the key, two first aiders walked up with key in hand to meet us as they had been pressing the button and looking for the lights.

we still have no idea how it fell out.

good times.

here’s a few snaps from laura (aka as never to look after anything ever again)
there are some more on her flickr over here

haha, i’m sure at the time the key incident sucked, but I enjoyed the tale – possibly a little too much.

And the picture at the end there? Definitely worth it.

i think had we not have had a few beers before hand we would have been freaking out. but actually we weren’t too worried… had some visions of having to drive up mid week and get the van back only to find it immersed in sinking sand though, that did start to make me panic a little…

The pic with the first aiders is classic louise aha and her hands at the side signalling a “there you have it” gesture and no doubt followed by a fit of giggles
